Final Proofread Complete

Hi, all! Things are finishing up, James Mendez Hodes has just done his last proof of the document, all of the Page XXs are replaced with actual page references, and we are just about ready to pull the trigger on the PDF version, and send the final print-ready files to our printer. Print time is still up in the air due to shortages of paper and ink, but I will keep you updated on the print progress and a Backerkit link will be sent to everyone shortly to update shipping info and to deliver the PDF.

Digital files are finished!

Hello friends! We are pleased to report that the production on the final digital copy of Thousand Arrows is complete. After a dozen rounds of proofreading, hundreds of edits, tweaks, and finishing touches, we have a finished, completed book to send you.
We’re using backer kit to distribute these files, so our primary next step is to make sure that’s fully configured and to send out those invitations. We’re working to get that done as soon as we possibly can.
We’re also posting all of the finished playbooks to our website at https://www.galileogames.com/downloads. With those you’ll be able to get your games started right away!
The Problems with Printing
After that, there’s the matter of the print books. One of the things we’ve discovered lately is that paper supplies in particular are very short. The last book we printed (earlier this year) had very limited choices available in terms of paper stock, and also that paper cost about three times what had originally been budgeted.
We’re looking into ways to manage these costs, but the basic takeaway at this moment is that we simply don’t have the cash to get physical books printed at this time. We are confident that ongoing PDF sales and working through existing inventory will refill our coffers enough to get to print before next summer’s convention season. It’s disappointing to be sure. We are certainly disappointed as well.
Cutting Costs
The easiest way to manage costs at this point in time is to reduce some of the smaller bonuses that we’d offered with higher tiers and we’d like to get feedback from you all on which are the most important to you, if any. Each of these items represents anywhere from fifty to a couple of hundred dollars worth of raw costs plus increases in shipping fees. Also we’ve heard explicitly from at least one Big Name backer that the only thing they really cared about was the scroll map.
These are the ones we’re looking at cutting, please comment below with which of these you’d prefer we keep. Or “None” if these all seem extraneous to you, and you’d just prefer to cut them all for us to focus on printing the book.
- Patch
- Pin
- Dice
- Poster
- Bookmarks
- Stickers
Rest assured that we will fulfill all of the most key backer rewards, it'll just take a bit more time. Please bear with us as we gather the funds, and enjoy the game in electronic format for now.
